5 key money-saving tips your advisor may not be telling you:
  • the fees on their products are too high and you could get better value elsewhere

  • a competitor may have a product better suited to your financial needs

  • you may be better off not contributing to your RRSP and instead prioritizing debt reduction

  • don't consolidate your assets with them because it isn't in your best financial interests

  • what you may be giving up by moving the commuted value of your pension to them

Finances. Simplified.

   MoneyorWealth Financial Consults

I help women, ages 40 to 70, simplify their finances and save money.

MoneyorWealth Financial Consults is a Burnaby, B.C. based business that focuses solely on saving you money by showing you how to identify and reduce costs, and simplify your finances to build wealth for yourself and not your financial institution.

  • Are you a woman who would like to better understand her finances?
  • Are you handling your own or the family finances for the first time due to separation, divorce or death?
  • Are you part of the "sandwich" generation, juggling the financial needs of university-bound children and aging parents?
  • Would you like a financial review without a sales pitch or pressure to consolidate assets?

Do you know the difference between purchasing an investment product and purchasing an investment?  If you are merely being sold a product, the sales person will focus primarily on the features and benefits of that product, with the unspoken implication that it is suitable for everyone they can sell it to.  However, if you are being sold an investment, the advisor will focus their attention on you and why this investment is suitable for you.  They will be able to tell you how the investment fits with your tax situation, your retirement goals, your estate plan, or some other aspect of your personal situation.

  • I do not sell any financial products.
  • I do not charge a fee that is a percentage of your assets.
  • I am not compensated by any financial company.
  • There is no conflict of interest as I am employed by you to help only you.
  • I offer a completely objective and un-biased review of your finances, to determine if you are getting value for your costs.

Most clients come to me because their primary advisor is unwilling or unable to answer many basic financial questions for them.

  • Most financial advisors work for their firm, not you.  Their job is to sell products, cross-sell other products and generate fees for their company.
  • While many have achieved the certified financial planning designation, their compensation, whether it is by commissions, fee based on assets managed or salary-based, is still sales dependent.
